Black Diamonds Records is excited to announce, "I Want It", the debut EP from TONI&MASH. The EP is the Berlin-based, German/UK duo's unique take on 80's synth pop and Alternative R&B. With their idiosyncratic twist of reverbed vocals, harmonic hooks, and danceable beats, TONI&MASH have arrived with their quirky, riot girl attitude. The duo explore a range of thematic material in the songs, bringing a fresh perspective on female empowerment and flipping gender stereotypes.

Their track "Lone Wolf" already had an introduction from a well-received remix from Black Diamonds label boss and acclaimed house music veteran, Joyce Muniz.

"I Want It"
Aggressive synth pop with a riot girl attitude. The punchy lyrics about female empowerment, rhythmic bassline and distorted electric guitar elements give this song its escalating, dramatic arc.

From TONI&MASH:
"It is one of the first songs we wrote together and it is still one of our favourites. It was written in a time of great frustration and anguish and it was quite therapeutic to put all this emotion in a banging song."

"Lone Wolf"
A mix between trap, synth pop, and alternative R&B, "Lone Wolf" is one of the more moodier tracks from the duo. Vocals washed in reverb, demanding "I want what I came for," the track flips the gender stereotypes on their heads, creating a space where women can be comfortable asking for what they want.

"LTGFU"
This upbeat, synthy track is a new wave dance floor filler. A battle cry for everyone who lives for the weekend, it's a pop anthem for ravers.

"Spelled out, the song's title is 'Love to Get Fucked Up'. We think it's pretty self explanatory."

TONI&MASH started making music in late 2015 after meeting at Berlin's infamous Mauer Park flea market. Although they both had solo projects at the time, once they got in the studio, it was like they'd been making music together for years. Their unique style of alternative R&B combines synth pop with reverbed vocals, harmonic hooks, and rhythmic drum patterns. Dubbed 'music with meaning', their catchy singalong lyrics are rich messages. With influences ranging from Abra to Patti Smith and Grace Jones to The Sugarbabes, they've been active on the DIY music collective circuit in Berlin for the last few years. In addition to TONI&MASH, the duo are involved in a multitude of projects, including directing, shooting and editing videos for themselves and other artists in Berlin's hip hop and R&B scene. You can also catch their monthly radio residency on Bristol's independent radio station, Noods Radio.
